Doing their part to continue the legacy of great American String Bands, the Jangles share a high energy, foot tappin’, entertaining, acoustic version of Western Swing. If you love String Jazz, Western Swing, and Red Hot Pickin’ – then you don’t want to miss The Jangles Quartet!
Featuring National Flatpicking Champion and multi-instrumentalist Roger Ferguson on fiddle, mandolin and lead guitar, master fiddler, Paul Elliot, Western Swing Hall of Fame member Mike Faast on vocals/guitar. and Michael Eytcheson on stand-up bass. (Mick Nickolson is also a regular contributor on bass).
Western Swing is rooted in the family of American Country Music, the style is upbeat, features string instruments, and “Country-flavored” lyrical themes. It is suitable for both concert and dancing entertainment.
Influences – Bob Wills, Milton Brown and his Musical Brownies, the Light Crust Doughboys, Doc Watson, Bill Monroe, Johnny Gimble, Django Reinhardt, Hot Club of Cowtown, the Time Jumpers, and many others.
